What is "local"?

Here at ELC, we have a pretty broad definition of local. We consider the following as local: food and beverages grown, raised, caught, processed, brewed, or distilled within 200 miles

We also include food businesses owned and operated by community members including small businesses such as jams and jellies, bakers, juices, spices, coffee, cheeses, sugar, beans, rice, beer, wine and spirits, and more. This also includes our beloved locally owned and operated restaurants, pop-ups, and food trucks.

Challenge Levels

Ultra Strict

(Only) Consume food grown, raised, caught, processed, brewed or distilled within a 200 mile radius.

Strict

Consume food grown, raised, caught, processed, brewed or distilled within a 200 mile radius with the exception of three meals and three beverages "off the wagon" each week. 

Lenient

Consume food grown, raised, caught, processed, brewed or distilled within a 200 mile radius with the exception of six meals and six beverages "off the wagon" each week. 

Ultra-Lenient

You do you. Any small changes you can make a great and have an impact!
